Every suit in our Made-to-Measure line is crafted from the finest materials sourced from heritage fabric mills such as Loro Piana (renowned for its luxurious cashmere and wool), Vitale Barberis (celebrated for its high-quality, versatile fabrics), Drago (known for its innovative and high-performance textiles), Dormeuil (a legacy of elegance and superior cloths loved by the royal families), etc.
Our suits also feature buttons made of high-quality horn, shell, or corozo nut, adding a touch of luxury to every piece.

To give you an even closer look at the craftsmanship and passion that go into our suits, we’re excited to introduce a small interview done by Joan Hint with the gentlemen behind our brand – Sten Karik, one of the designers and founders of GUILD and Felix Laasme, a multidisciplinary creative who’s behind our photography and graphic design. These sartorial connoisseurs have worn our suits for over a decade and recently donned our new Made-to-Measure suits on an inspiring trip to Florence and Verona. Their insights and experiences offer a personal glimpse into the artistic and elegant world of gentleman’s essentials.
J: Sten, when we first met more than 15 years ago, you caught my eye as one of the few young men always wearing suits. They say not to judge a book by its cover, but it’s scientifically proven that first impressions are made in the first five seconds. You looked really hot in suits, and my opinion hasn’t changed since.
As we’re designing unique and classic suits for men, I’m even more impressed. And I’m not the only one – whenever we travel to a busy metropolis such as Milan or Florence, people compliment you as the most stylish gentlemen they have ever seen. And it’s a BIG thing in Italy as so many people have great style! Would you please share the secrets to creating a unique, personal style that is always elegant yet innovative?
Sten: There is no secret—just be yourself. Be simple, comfortable, and always “ready.”
J: Men keep asking us if we could be their personal stylists without realizing it would be a natural bonus if they came to GUILD. What advice would you give men who want to elevate their wardrobe without ruining their wallets?
S: You need just a couple of solid outfits you can combine. If you find the cuts, colors, and pieces that work for you, stick to them—and you’ll create your own style.
J: Is there the magical “something” (regarding clothing) that every gentleman should have?
S: A great suit. Or, ideally, three suits: one for colder seasons, ideally in Earth shade; one for summer – this one can be either light or flashy, but shades of beige or light blue are the colors that always work; and one great-fitting black suit for more formal events.
Different shoes are also the key. Manners—which are not really “clothing” but speak as loud—and inner peace are also important for the same reason. Men who keep calm have the first ingredient necessary to be considered a gentleman.
J: Felix, just as your previous work was mainly known around street style, so was your style. Have you noticed any changes in how people perceive or interact with you when you’re wearing – let’s say – a suit?
F: It depends on the occasion since it is up to Other’s perceptions. Instead, I’d let the reflection be about what is ‘there for them’ — keeping it free of comparison.
Personal style is an expression of inner charm. Fashion is an archetypal costume play. GUILD introduced me ‘the beauty of craft’, and craft embodies the ambition of storytelling. The design process involves exploring and layering patterns to highlight the leading traits. Garment brings the persona to the forefront. The look of the frame, figure, and form is an extension of the character. Style in wholeness is a reflection of charisma.
J: What do you enjoy most about wearing suits?
F: Wearing a suit can be restful, an extension of serenity. It allows intention to radiate gently, and I strive to maintain gentleness across the entire ‘style spectrum’. No fashion shall make you severe or false an appearance to be more than Others. I can personally state that GUILD has developed its craft with a keen eye for pristine quality and detail, completing ‘the frame of The Character’.
Many people have often expressed their admiration for my styling as inspirational and well-suited. I honor them as they express themselves as they are.
Other times, I wished friends could get their personal experience of ‘What Is It’ about the craft done as a sartorial work since excellent craftsmanship is available in various styles.
J: Well, I’m glad that our new suiting line will be more available—there are so many beautiful fabrics, details, and elements, and I can’t wait for more people to experience having a well-made suit tailored for them!
What are your main go-to fabrics and colors?
F: Wool, linen, and organic cotton are the main ‘go-to’ fabrics, as they are the best options. These fabrics enhance the body’s subtle field and calm the nervous system.
I honour all hues, being attracted to the full range of colour spectacles. Each colour has its magnetic gradiation. I like to interpret colours as the Earth is designed to harmonize with its representative inhabitants and elements. I’ve found lava black, ash grey, and terrain beige to be the most calm in radiance. Blue reminds me of the insightful depth between the sky and the ocean. Green activates vitality.
J: What about accessorizing to reflect your style?
F: I prefer to wear a suit with sneakers. Therefore, it gives me a feeling of resilience in all conditions. Sometimes, I also like to add highlighting accents for a contrasting uplift.
