Deep V Vest
Elegant single breasted waistcoat crafted of luxurious Japanese herringbone denim. The vest has a back buckle for fitting adjustment, six horn button front closure and two welted pockets.
The rise of waistcoats was in 1660s when King Charles II became fascinated with Persian vests seen in the court of Shah Abbas. The new style was announced by royal decree, with Samuel Pepys recording in 1666: “The King hath yesterday in council declared his resolution of setting a fashion for clothes which he will never alter. It will be a vest..”
