“One is never over-dressed or underdressed
with a Little Black Dress”
– Karl Lagerfeld

Introducing our little black dress crafted of OEKO-TEX certified extra-fine merino wool!

The body-hugging pencil dress is stretchy and comfortable and is suitable for both everyday wear and festive events. And not only – as merino wool is a true nature’s wonder fiber, it’s also ideal for all seasons.

In the wintertime, style the dress with black tights, heels, or brogues. You might also add a little black belt with an elegant buckle as seen on our styled shoot with the mesmerizing twins. For colder temperatures, pair the dress with a woolen suit jacket or wide-cut coats. On warmer seasons, like spring (and in Northern Europe, also on chilly summer nights) style the dress with pointed-toe flats on bare feet. For a more characteristic look, tie a silk scarf on your neck or hair and add the cherry on top with flattering sunglasses.

So why do we love merino wool so much?

First of all, it creates a microclimate around the body – it breathes in warm and cold weather which is the ability that synthetic fibers don’t have. When it’s hot, the fibers absorb the body’s moisture vapors and evaporate them outside of the fabric – keeping you nice and cool. When it’s cold, moisture vapors condense inside the fiber to keep you warm.

The wool is grown by Merino sheep who live in the highlands of Australia and New Zealand and who can withstand temperatures ranging from -20 C° up to +35 C°. Being much finer and softer than regular wool, it feels great on sensitive skin and it is also known to be hypoallergenic.

So how to take care of merino wool?

The golden rule is – less washing the better! Merino does not need washing after each wear – rather let it hang on open air. Washing machines are also tricky – we highly recommend taking merino wool to professional dry cleaners to maintain the quality. Another option is to hand soak in lukewarm water inside out using an organic, mild detergent. No hard rubbing, a gentle soak will do before rinsing thoroughly in cold water. Dry flat or place it on a hanger. No ironing is needed as the wool is pretty much wrinkle-resistant, et voila! Your faithful companion is ready for adventures, once again!
